When The Hive at Silsden, a community hub in West Yorkshire, approached Marketing With Purpose, they were looking to raise awareness of their centre in their local community. The team felt overwhelmed and were desperate to get to grips with their marketing, and in particular their social media output.
In addition to wanting to improve their overall marketing activities, the team wanted a clear, easy to understand plan to help them ensure consistency of brand and messaging across all their platforms. We were given a three-month time frame to deliver a marketing strategy, comms plan and a range of activities so that at the end of the project they could deliver their marketing themselves.
We began with a session to gather information which enabled our team to develop an overall marketing strategy and a manageable comms plan. By breaking down the Hive’s needs and helping them to re-address their purpose we were able to offer them a more streamlined approach to their marketing.
After our kick-off session, we also agreed on a series of training sessions focusing on planning digital comms as well as ‘how to’ sessions on both software and social platforms. The aim was that the Hive team would feel more confident and have the skills to implement a whole range of marketing activities themselves.
We carried out a skills audit to see where the team felt they needed the most support and then designed a series of training sessions bespoke to the Hive team; which were then delivered as one in-person workshop, and four one-hour online sessions.
Once we presented the Hive’s new plan, we worked alongside Leanne and the team on fine tuning their social media, advising on promotional material content and design, and walking them through how to achieve the constituent messaging across all their content.
Leanne from the Hive explains:
“Amanda and Viky helped change our outlook on our approach to Social Media Marketing right from the beginning!
We are a charity run community centre with minimal staff. Our social media activity was beginning to drop as it felt like such a mountain to climb. Within a few short weeks we had a better, more streamlined approach to our marketing in general. She has been ever-present which has proved so helpful and reassuringly flexible.
We are looking forward to our final few weeks of input that will tie everything together to enable us to have the confidence to take back the ropes to become more successful with our social media!”
