Young Barnet Foundation

Young Barnet Foundation’s Space2Grow Children & Young People’s Fund is a funder supporting voluntary and community groups, that are members of the Young Barnet Foundation (YBF) and are working with children and young people (and their families).

YBF approached MWP to support them with refreshing and rewriting their marketing and comms strategy and assisting them with comms activities around their selection as Barnet’s Mayors Chosen Charity.  Whilst waiting for a recently appointed Marketing and Communications Manager to come into post, we were also able to support the charity with a wider variety of marketing activities in the interim.

Interim Support

With our marketing support packages, our aim is to provide highly flexible support: ideal for organisations that don’t have the time, resources or staff in post to manage their own digital marketing.

After our initial calls with YBF’s Chief Operating Officer Peter Williamson, it was clear what the organisation needed was interim support that was able to flex around their planned marketing and comms campaigns, in addition to providing recommendations on improving reach and engagement.

Our role was to bring our expertise in marketing, PR and fundraising to plan and produce creative, visually exciting and engaging copy that helped YBF build trust, raise awareness and drive donations for the charity.

We set up weekly calls between ourselves and Peter, and the ‘hands on’ support we offered evolved over the 5 months we supported Peter and his team. Once their new Marketing and Communication Manager came into role we worked alongside them, continuing to offer support as needed.

Full range of support

From website content to traditional printed collateral, we were able to offer a full range of support to YBF, including:

· Planning and delivering a short comms campaign to support YFB’s selection as chosen charity for 51st State Music Festival. This included writing copy for social media, website news page and media releases.

· Support with Cost-of-Living crisis messaging and website content

· E-Newsletter support

· Researching, interviewing and writing case studies for YBF’s school project.

· Designing video presentation for a conference stand

· Leaflet copy and design

· Writing content for YBF’s Christmas Gift Campaign including website copy, media release, copy for e-Shots and social media campaign, in addition to providing visual assets

· Reviewing and updating YBF’s marketing and comms strategy
